What are some of your favorite art supplies?

Art supplies is quite a relative term now that I think about it...It's really quite awesome to figure out how to make something from with very few resources. But, my day in - day out favorites seem to be birch wood panels to paint on, gel medium (particularly Amsterdam), scraps of papers, and acrylic paint.

If you were an animal, what would it be?

  • Hi Jane, do I need a password to enter Nature Interwoven? Thanks

  • Hi Jane,  I purchased Painting on Black on Aug 2015.  I am wanting to refresh this class but I can not figure out how to get to it.  My transaction # is 71T02480SA5763921 and Invoice ID is 3w3hevcvjegohb2arjq9s9bois4s0004o0ccksc (insanely long, whew)  As soon as I can get then I can purchase Cupboard Angels  Thanks so much  Tamara McClure

  • Just to confirm: you are offering a discount on the package of all workshops but for those who already bought one or more there is no discount for individual workshops?

  • Whoops...never mind, I found them:)  Thanks again Jane!

  • How do I get to Nature Interwoven and Cupboard Angels?  Purchased on July 18th, don't have a password or access. Thanks for your assistance:)

  • Hi Jane, I would like to log into Beyond Skin Deep, I enrolled in the class awhile ago but now I don't know how to access it.  I can send you the original confirmation of necessary.  I'm anxious to get started (again)!!  Thank you:))

  • Jane- I am interested in 2 of your workshops. I have taken painting on black. I want to take cupboard angels and nature? Can't remember the exact title. Can you make me a deal?
  • Hi Jane- I have a couple of questions about two of your workshops. Does your demo Beyond Skin Deep utilize collage with decorative papers? This is what initially drew me to your work. I love decorative papers and am always looking for ways to use them. And integrating them with portraits, what could be better! I also love working on black and dark substrates but have gotten away from it. I plan to purchase that one as well. What type of substrate are you using in the demo? I assume you black gesso it? Also once purchased, is access to the videos for a determined period of time, or open-ended? Lastly, I loved watching your non-dominant hand video. I recently began to use my left hand to start drawings (even through two hour life drawing classes), and find I am able to better capture gesture, form and expression that way, but could never do it from beginning to end. It would look like a first grader did it- and my arm would be killing me! You are certainly much more skilled with your left hand than I! I would like to try it, though. I started out almost 20 years ago using oil pastel (I have tons of Holbein and a lot of Sennelier) as my chosen medium -often over acrylic or gouache- but have never tried it with oils. Oils scare me- just don't know how to handle them, especially since they take forever to dry and I'm impatient (and all my old alkyds dried up, so I only have regular oil paints- oh- and oil bars). Sorry for the long message. I probably won't have time to work on learning new stuff until October. I have a couple of shows coming up that I'm preparing for before then. So thinking I'll buy those two of your workshops in October. Excited to try it all. Thanks so much for sharing your amazing work and sharing your knowledge. ~Dawn
