While trying to come up with an idea for this month's art prompt, Abstract Art popped in my mind. I started looking it up and found the different definitions so interesting. Art that is not about any particular tangible subject. Such a strange concept! And so freeing! The way I am looking at it is: abstract art is art for the sake of expressing or possibly evoking emotions, moods, maybe using color and form to sing a song or describe a journey of the soul. It's hard for me to wrap my mind around.
I do know there have been many a times when I was creating a background for a piece of mixed media artwork and I couldn't bring myself to put a portrait or anything else on top of it. I found out that I love abstract art for the sake of playing with colors and composition!
